Book News: In A Far Off Land

2020 is full of uncertainty, but at least one thing is for sure: 2021 has to be better.

One reason for me is that I’ll have a new book coming out and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Last Friday, I sent off the final manuscript to my editors at Tyndale House Publishers. It was both terrifying (the last chance I’ll have to make any changes), exciting (one step closer!) and a huge relief (finally done!). I celebrated with a glass of prosecco while my son, Joey, did a congratulatory dab in the background.

Here’s some quick answers on what that means for you, my readers, in the upcoming months.

When will In A Far Off Land be available?

We don’t have a release date, but expect it sometime in the summer of 2021. Vacation read!

What is In A Far Off Land About? Is it biblical fiction?

I’ve taken a departure from biblical fiction to explore the Great Depression, Mexican repatriation, and 1930s Hollywood. For those of you familiar with the Bible, you’ll recognize a familiar parable within the storyline.

What is happening between now and when the book releases?

A lot! In addition to this new website (please take a look around and let me know what you think), I’ll be sharing sneak peeks on my Instagram and Facebook pages so be sure to follow, like, and share with your friends. You can expect vintage photos and stories of some of my favorite Hollywood stars, as well as the fashions and food of the era and historical tidbits on the Great Depression and 1930s Los Angeles.

You can also sign up for my newsletter HERE. Don’t worry, I’m too busy with writing and the book launch to send out a newsletter very often.

There’s a lot of work to be done before next year — I’ll be putting out a call for a launch team and early readers, blog tours, and giveaways — and I’ll need your help so please watch for requests as the year goes by and consider helping me by spreading the word about this new story.

And finally: Thank you, thank you, thank you

I’m humbly grateful for all the encouragement, prayers, and friendship my readers have given me since I started on this writing journey. I can’t thank you enough and I hope this new novel is one way that I can give back to you who have been so good to me. And of course, my thanks to the wonderful people at Tyndale House for making this book a reality!
