Orchard House Giveaway
This Giveaway is unfortunately, over. But check back every Thursday from now until May, 2021, for more great book givaways!
Welcome to the second of my thirteen-book giveaway! This one is for a brand new release of Heidi Chiavaroli’s latest novel, The Orchard House. Make sure to see how to enter below.
Award-winning author Heidi Chiavaroli transports readers across time and place in this time-slip novel that will appeal to fans of Little Women.
Two women, one living in present day Massachusetts and another in Louisa May Alcott’s Orchard House soon after the Civil War, overcome their own personal demons and search for a place to belong.
Does that sound like a great read? I can’t wait to read it myself, and when I do, I’ll put up a review on my blog, as well as on Bookbub, Goodreads, and Amazon. Authors really appreciate reviews from readers so if you read a good book, make sure to spread the word.
Another thing authors love is bookstores! Especially indie bookstores. My favorite is Valley Bookseller here in Stillwater, MN. Heidi’s favorite store is Inkfish Books in Warren, Rhode Island. Make sure to use one of these or your own favorite indie when you’re looking for books.
Heidi was kind enough to be one of the very first readers of In A Far-Off Land. Here’s what she had to say about my newest release:
One of the best books I’ve read this year! In A Far-Off Land is a beautiful story echoing the power of mercy, forgiveness, and love as it peels back the multi-faceted layers of those living in Hollywood during the Great Depression. Stephanie Landsem weaves a heroine with as much spunk and edge as heart and soul. Just a gorgeous, page-turning novel. — Heidi Chiavaroli, Carol Award-winning author of The Orchard House
In A Far Off Land, will be released in Summer 2021. It’s a story of murder, glamour, and redemption set in the glittering world of 1930s Hollywood. You can read more about HERE. And you can pre-order at Valley Bookseller or your favorite online bookstore.

Love that one, too!
I love the classics. I’m reading Jane Eyre right now.
I love the classics, too. Not enough time to read everything!
Agreed!
Right now I am reading Daughter of Cana by Angela Elwell Hunt, and I am loving it! Thanks for your book giveaway promotions. It’s fun!
Thanks for entering!
I am reading Tidewater Bride by Laura Frantz right now
I’ve heard great things about that one.
I am currently reading In This House of Brede. My favorite Alcott book is Little Women.
I LOVED This House of Brede. It took a bit of time to get into it but it was one of my favorites from last year.
I am reading A Perfect Amish Romance by Shelley Shepard Gray. I love books around the civil war era! The cover looks anazing
It does!
My favorite was Little Women. I read it several times and as a result watched the movie which came out a couple of years ago. I was definitely a fan. Right now I am reading a book by Amy Lillard “A New Love for Charlotte”.
Have you seen the newest one? It’s a different interpretation, but I really enjoyed the wardrobe.
I am reading a book that was written in 1940 by Graham Greene, The Power and the Glory. It was recommended by our Assoc. Pastor. It is to be Greene’s best novel.
I started The Power and the Glory but I didn’t finish it. I really want to but I got bogged down, maybe because I was listening to it on audio. But I LOVED The End of the Affair by Graham Greene.
I am reading Yours Truly, Thomas by Rachel Fordham. I just recently started the book. Thank you for the opportunity to win a book!
Thanks for entering the contest!
Favorite Alcott – Little Women Just finished The Appalling Strangeness of the Mercy of God
That is an interesting title, I’m going to need to look it up.
I am currently reading Dancing Shoes by Lynne Gentry. Since I am the pastor’s wife of a small church, I am really enjoying this series.
Love the title, I’ll check it out.
Edwina, you are the winner of this giveaway! Please send your address to my email: stephanielandsem@gmail.com and I’ll get your book off to you! Thanks for entering!
My favorite is, of course, Little Women! Current read is Frankenstein.
Ooh. Good classic!
I actually just finished reading Little Women – for the first time – a few weeks ago (hard to admit for a librarian)! I loved it, and now I’m trying to find out which film adaptation is my favorite.
I can’t decide. The last one was definitely a different take on the book, but I loved the clothes. It’s worth watching just for the wardrobe.
I love, loved, loved reading the rather obscure title by Alcott: “A Long, Fatal Love Chase”. That’s my favorite but all her writing is great!
I’ve never heard of that one! My favorite was Eight Cousins so I’m in the minority here also. 🙂
My favorite Louisa May Alcott book is An Old-Fashioned Girl! (And I am currently reading Wrapped in Rain by Charles Martin.)
I’d love to read that one. If only I had time for all the good books in the world!
I’m reading The Four Winds now!
I’m so jealous! My local bookstore has my copy (signed by the author!) but it’s been so cold here I haven’t ventured out to get it. But I am so looking forward to Depression era!
My favorite was Little Women. Just finished The Proud Breed by Celeste De Blasis. It’s a 3 generational saga of California starting in the 1800’s. It’s one that’s difficult to put down. Working on The Code Girls now. About the women who were the main ones behind breaking all the codes of the Japanese and Germans during WWII. They were not allowed to tell anyone about their jobs, not even family. Later they got little to no credit for the work they did. Slow read, but really good.
There are many good books about the code breakers. I love that subject.
I am about to begin reading The Sword and the Secrets by Jan Davis Warren.
Thanks for entering! Good luck in the giveaway
I am reading Roots of wood and stone by Amanda Wen. Loving it
There’s nothing so nice as a good book!
Eight Cousins and Rose in Bloom were my favorite Alcott series.
Eight Cousins was my favorite of all her books. We’re in the minority here 🙂
I have just finished reading This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger, a Minnesota author.
That was one of my favorites of 2019. He is such a fantastic author and all around nice guy also.
Little Women is my favorite, though I did really like watching the Little Men TV show when it was on.
I didn’t see that. When was it made?
I’m reading Dearest Josephine right now! <3
Good luck in the Giveaway, Catherine!
I love, love, LOVE Little Women but enjoy Louisa’s other books too.
You might really enjoy Heidi’s new book then!
Little Women of course but also her Eight Cousin series I really liked.
Eight Cousins was my favorite. Something about Rose just really grabbed me when I was a kid.
I am reading Glory Over Everything by Kathleen Grissom. It is the sequel to the Kitchen House, a novel about the antebellum period in the south and the lives of the slaves that revolve around the kitchen of the plantation. I love historical fiction!! I just finished Auntie Poldi & the Sicilian Lions by Mario Giardano for my Book Club read. Next up Daisy Jones & the Six which is also historical fiction.
I’ve heard great things about Daisy Jones and Glory Over Everything. So many books, so little time!
I love Little Women <3 right now I am reading The Hesitant Heiress by Dawn Crandall 🙂
Good luck in the giveaway, Mia!
The only Alcott book that I have read is Little Women, which I enjoyed as a young teen. One of the books that I’m reading is Home At Last by Deborah Raney. It’s is the fifth and last of the Chicory Inn series. I’ve really enjoyed it. Thank you for the giveaway and congratulations on your upcoming release! Your first three books are great, so I know I’ll enjoy this new one.
Thank you, Kay. i so appreciate your encouragement.
Right now I am reading Lady Wydnwood’s Spies 1: Archer. I love Little Women and have read and reread all those books many times. Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
You are welcome! Good luck!
I’m reading Sylvester by Georgette Heyer.
Good luck, Caryl!

I loved “Little Women” by Alcott.
“ Cilka’s Journey” by Heather Morris really good too.
I just love to read.
Same here 🙂 I’ll have to check out those books.
I am currently reading Managing Mary by Jessica Scarlett.
Good luck, Heather!
My favorite LMA book is also one of my current reads: Little Women. I found an absolutely gorgeous illustrated vintage copy at a thrift store a few months back and knew it had to come home with me. I finally started re-reading it recently!
That sounds wonderful. Nothing like vintage books.
I LOVE Little Women!!!! I watch any movie adaptation I get a chance to. I haven’t actually read the book in a very long time, but it’s one of my all time favorites.
Mine too. And I like all the movies!
Currently reading Find Me in Havana by Serena Burdock. I had a little trouble determining who was who but am loving it now and can’t put it down!
I’ve been enjoying Cuban historical fiction lately, also.
I am currently reading To Dwell Among Cedars by Connilyn Cossette.
I’ve heard good things about that book.
I have Little Women on my list to read but I am not ready for it yet. It will remind me too much of my current situation. I am ready The Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes.
Sometimes, you need to read books for an escape from current troubles. I hope your situation improves, Sonetta.
I love little women.
Such a good book. Thanks for entering, Virginia!
Jo’s Boys
So good! Good luck in the giveaway, Anne!
My favorite is Little Women. I’m currently reading 1984 by George Orwell, and I’m finishing up a book by Marissa Meyer, Fairest.
Ooh. I read 1984 just about a month ago. The beginning is the best part. I thought it got a little draggy toward the end, and depressing. But it is a good read and one that you think about long after.
I love Little Women. I have good memories of my mother reading it to my brother, sister and me one cold and snowy winter in North Dakota. We were just kids and she would read a chapter each night. I really looked forward to every new chapter. Right now I’m reading Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah.
I just started Kristin Hannah’s new book, The Four Winds. It’s good!
Little Women is my favorite Louisa May Alcott novel, of course!
Right now I am just starting The Writing Desk by Rachel Hauck.
Good luck in the giveawy, Mary!
I would like to read the Orchard house as i like historical fiction. My favorite book by Louisa May Alcott is Little Women.
I hope you get to read it. Good luck in the giveaway!
Little Women is my favorite and I also enjoyed Little Men. Currently reading Jesus of Nazareth by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. Looking forward to retirement when I can read more classics.
I think I read that one by Pope Benedict. Is it in two parts? I’ll have to look at my bookshelf. There are always more good books to read!
I read a lot of Louisa May Alcott as a teen, but Little Women made the deepest impression. Last night I finished The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness…a bit different.
I bet. I’ve heard good things about that book, though. Stay warm up there, LeAnne!
Right now I am reading King’s Shadow (The Silent Years Book 4) by Angela Hunt. Good book by a great author. Thanks for your book giveaway promotions. P.S. I cannot wait to read your latest book Stephanie Landsem.
Thank you! Good luck in the giveaway 🙂
I’ve only read Little Women, but lately, I’ve been reading Georgette Heyer and Julie Klassen.
Julie Klassen’s book, A Castaway in Cornwall, is on the list of giveaways coming up!
I am reading “Kings Shadow” right now too. Debra Hancock is my cousin and we are reading it together. (Her in Arizona and me in Nevada.) Fun!
I love reading a book together with someone. It makes it fun to have something to talk about. Thanks for entering!
Little Women and I’m reading Painted Memories by A.M.Heath. This book is soooo good!
I’m glad you entered the giveaway! Good luck, Brenda.
I am re-reading The Swan House by Elizabeth Musser. A lovely historical fiction with southern roots.
I’m currently reading Egypt’s Daugther by Angela Hunt! And my fav Louisa May Alcott books are (I can’t choose just one ) Little Women and Rose in Bloom
Little Men
I’m reading A Captain for Caroline Gray by Julie Wright
