There's a lot of talk about Artificial Intelligence these days. As an author who's novels…
Giveaway of Clouds, A Memoir by Laura Sobiech
What a treat it is for me to feature my dear friend Laura Sobiech for my next endorser giveaway. We met 25 years ago in a church basement, and since then have seen each other through the greatest joys and the worst of sorrows. Never could we have imagined what God had in store for our lives.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD.
I want everyone to read Laura’s story and so I’m giving away a copy of Clouds, A Memoir. Make sure to find out how to enter to win it below. Here’s a little about Clouds, A Memoir:
Originally published as Fly a Little Higher and now updated and revised to coincide with the film release of Clouds, Laura Sobiech tells the amazing, true story behind the song and the movie.
“Okay, Lord, you can have him. But if he must die, I want it to be for something big. I want someone’s life to be changed forever.” This is what Laura Sobeich prayed when she found out her seventeen-year-old son had only one year to live. With this desperate prayer, she released her son to God’s will.
This is a beautiful and heartwrenching story that you don’t want to miss. If you have Disney+, make sure to see the movie, too.
I couldn’t wait to have Laura read In A Far-Off Land and was dying to know what she thought. Here’s what she had to say:
With the backdrop of glamorous 1930’3 Hollywood, In A Far-Off Land is a timeless tale of human frailty and self-interest that inevitably leads to heartache. But, like all the best stories, the raw, lively, and complex characters find their way to redemption and healing. A Far-Off Land reminds us that no matter how broken we are, with a little hope and a lot of grace, love will always lead us back home. — Laura Sobiech, author of Clouds, A Memoir
Here’s a picture of Laura and I in 2008 when we went to Rome together with our husbands. It was an amazing trip and something I’m so grateful we got to share.
You can win a SIGNED copy of Clouds by following me on Instagram and commenting on the Instagram post featuring Laura’s endorsement. (If you’re not an Instagram user, you can enter by leaving a comment below with your favorite thing to do with friends.)

Love to meet my friends for coffee and just chat for hours.
The time really flies when you get together with a good friend, doesn’t it?
I love to get together with my friends & play cards
Fun! We play cards in our family a lot. My favorite is a game called black-out that my parents taught us.
I love to get a cup of coffee, a good talk and make room for a prayer. I love to share my time with my friends, with God.
I agree. Praying with and for our friends is a gift.
Getting together, after covid, for coffee, lunch or a picnic!
Yes! Can’t wait until this summer when we can do that again.
We enjoy sharing what God has done in our lives and bringing the message of hope to others
Yes! There is nothing better than a friend that shares your faith.
I love to spend time with my friends at the lake.Reminiscence about our childhood growing up and our lives currently. I am
always up for relaxing and having quality time with those who mean the most to me. Life is way to short! My six year old was diagnosed in 2020 with cancer and our life was flipped up side down in a matter of moment. I always say live your best life everyday and spend it with those you love.
Old friends are the best. And time at the lake is so relaxing. I”m sorry about your child, that is so difficult. If you haven’t read Clouds I highly recommend it. Dealing with a cancer diagnosis is a parent’s worst fear and she meets that head-on.
I love to spend time with my nieces when I’m not working as a Pediatric ICU nurse on the weekends. My weekends off are valuable and spent with friends and family as my job has shown how short and precious life can be. And of course curling up with a book in the evenings on a weekend off are the best.
You have a tough job, Danielle. Thank you for what you are doing. Wishing you lots of good reading!
