Enter into the Nativity: My Gift to you this Christmas
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be present when Jesus was born?
We can’t travel through time, but I hope to give you a small glimpse of what it might have felt like to be in that poor stable on the night the Incarnation was brought into the world. The story of Lila, the Innkeeper’s Servant, is one of the writing pieces I am most proud of. It’s a witness to the birth of Jesus from the eyes of a child-like woman in desperate need of peace. My hope with Lila’s story is that you, too, experience a peace beyond all understanding.

Lila, The Innkeeper’s Servant, is a story first published in the Advent devotional Gaze Upon Jesus, Experiencing Christ’s Childhood Through the Eyes of Women. I’m thankful to CatholicVinyard.com and Ave Maria Press for their part in making this story a gift to you!
Wishing you a blessed Christmas!

I purchased the book “GAZE UPON JESUS” and each year at Christmas I read the story about Lila. It brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. It’s my favorite short story of all time. I also have your three books in The Living Water Series, and I have read all three of them twice, and in 2022 I will be reading all three for the third time. I never tire of your historical fiction, Stephanie! I’m hoping you will eventually write another.
Thank you so much, Mary! I’m glad Lila’s story is meaningful to you. Have you read In A Far-Off Land? I’ve enjoyed writing my two latest books set in the 1930s, but I hope to also go back to biblical fiction someday as I do love to write about women who encounter Jesus, like Lila.
I purchased your book IN A FAR OFF LAND, Stephanie, and I did like it . . . but didn’t like it as much as THE THIEF, THE WELL AND THE TOMB.
